Destination Royan Atlantique extends over nearly 100 km of coastline. Many sites are thus conducive to the practice of various nautical activities. But then where to surf in Royan or La Palmyre ? We reveal to you the best surf spots and bodyboarding to tame the waves.

1. Surfing at the Wild Coast / Surfing
at Palmyra

Between La Palmyre and Tremblade, beaches of the Côte Sauvage offer an ideal spot for surfers. The Atlantic waves are there. This spot is frequented by all surfers and bodyboarders. Near a pine forest, escape for a session in an exceptional natural setting. We are benefitting !

To get there by car, take the D25 towards La Tremblade – car parks nearby.

2. Surfing in Royan, beach
from Pontaillac

In the heart of a trendy district of Royan, the Pontaillac beach is Royan's famous spot for skiing all year round. Located in a bay sheltered from the wind, this spot with medium waves is also ideal for beginners. This beach can be very crowded in summer.

Practical

Large free car park on avenue de Paris and in the immediate vicinity opposite the Pontaillac mini-golf course.

3. Surf Nauzan beach – fallback spot

Between Saint-Palais-sur-Mer and Vaux-sur-Mer, the Nauzan beach is a fallback spot ideal for young beginners. Located in a conch, it offers a safe environment for discovering surfing.

Practical

Free parking near avenue de Nauzan plage and along boulevard de la Côte de Beauté.
