From north to south, the stalls are full of fresh and seasonal products that make the success of the original recipes. All year round, the food, fairground or producer markets invite you to stroll and discover.

More than just a walk, we dive into the lively atmosphere of markets. All the senses are awakened. First of all the smells intoxicate us, the colors surprise us, the traders challenge us. This is an opportunity to meet and discuss with local producers, farmers from the land and the sea. Greengrocers, market gardeners, cheese makers, oyster farmers, fishmongers... all are, in fact, passionate about their profession and enjoy having their products tasted. Under the halls, in the covered markets or on the open-air markets, you fill your basket to cook the soil with family or friends and take the time to meet at the table around a good dish. A whole art of living.

Since the 50s, people have traditionally come here to find the best products in the region. Wednesday and Sunday mornings are big market days. In a warm atmosphere, we sit on the terrace of a café, we taste a few oysters around a glass of Charente white wine.

In 2018, the Royan market was voted 2nd most beautiful market in France in the TF1 competition.
