5 ideas for running circuits around Royan

We leave in Coubre forest and we enjoy the feeling of running in the shade of the pine trees. If you prefer to feel the sea spray on your face, we opt for a circuit by the sea. Occasional runners or running enthusiasts, we offer you 5 running circuit ideas for all levels to stretch your legs and enjoy our landscapes. 1. ≈ 3,5 km: Urban route in Saint-Georges-de-Didonne

Easy level – Elevation: 32 m

Meet at the Relais de la Côte de Beauté for a relatively flat 3,5 km route.
Direction the port of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne by the waterfront, you can hear the sound of the waves.
We continue our discovery of the city by the Charles Martel promenade. The Vallières lighthouse stands in front of us.
We go up to the rue du port to return to the city center by the rue Collignon and then we take the rue du Logis.
We pass in front of the church of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne by the rue de la République to reach the place Odilon Redon.
At this point, turn right towards Rue du Pasteur Jarrousseau; you can see his house on the left.
To return to the starting point, we rush under the trees along the Rang des Adrets Musso alley and come out on the seafront.

2. 7 km: Urban route in Saint-Palais-sur-Mer

Easy level

From rue de l'Océan, take avenue de la Forêt then avenue des Pierrières.
We take the coastal path until we reach the avenue de la Grande Côte to go up to the rue des Palombes.
At the end of the street, turn left and immediately right to reach Rue des Mouettes.
At the end of it, turn left onto rue des Tourterelles and right to find chemin du Rouge-Gorge.
Halfway, turn left on the Allée des Cailles then the Chemin des Colombes to come back to the Lac de Saint-palais-sur-mer.
We go around the leisure park then we reach the rue du Logis Vert. At the end of the street, we return to the starting point on rue de l'Océan.

3. 8,5 km: Running in La Coubre Forest and La Cèpe Beach

Easy Level – Elevation: 112m

An 8 km circuit combining forest and beach in the town of La Tremblade Ronce-les-Bains.
Start at the roundabout on Avenue de l'Océan where the Vélodyssée® cycle path begins.
We enter the forest towards the Siblu La Pignade campsite which we walk along.
Continue towards the Roseaux forest house. We cross a more humid zone.
We join the white limestone firebreak path and continue until crossing the cycle path and the D25.
Head to La Cèpe beach with a view of the island of Oléron in the distance. Continue to Place Brochard on the right.
We take avenue de la Chaumière to the roundabout and turn to our right to find avenue de l'Océan.

4. Run in the heart of the marshes – Mornac-sur-Seudre

Two ideas in one, the Seudre estuary is a great place for running. Here are two ideas for routes through the claires de Mornac-sur-Seudre. These circuits are not recommended in case of strong heat.

Teger East: 3,3 km – Easy level

Leaving the port, head towards rue des Basses Amarres to leave the village via rue de l'Aide. We turn right before the green path to set off on a loop that leads back to the other end of this path. We follow the marked trail for a little over 3 km.

West Teger: 5,3 km – Easy level

Leaving the port, head towards rue des Basses Amarres to leave the village via rue de l'Aide. This time, we continue on the path of the old rope factory, also called the green path. We join the road to enter the marsh and follow the loop from the Téger channel to the Coulonges channel. We return to the green path by the road.

5. 8,5 km: Run Between Two Estuaries – Around the Abbeye from Sablonceaux

Easy level

Departure under the porch of the abbey of Sablonceaux. We take the route de l'Abbaye and turn on the first left.
Continue straight until you turn right on the road to Chez Maulin.
Pass the crossroads and immediately turn right on the path, along the vines.
At the end of the path, turn right again on the road to Saint-Romain-de-Benet. Continue straight for 500 m and turn left onto the path that runs alongside the property.
We follow the path for 1 km and turn right on the impasse of Chez Gautreau. At the end of this impasse, we join the road to Chez Gautreau by turning right.
At the end of this road, turn left into Rue de Malleville. Continue for 300m and turn right at Haras de Malleville.
Follow the road for 800 m and, at the intersection, take the road to the right. At the end, we turn right and we arrive on the path of the priests.
At the end of the path, go around the abbey on the left until you return to the starting point under the porch.
