With more than 70 visitors per season, the municipal caves of Regulus are a must-see site
tourism in Charente-Maritime, located 15 km from Royan.
Overlooking the Gironde estuary and dug into limestone cliffs, the "holes" of Meschers
welcome you in an exceptional setting. Originally natural, the caves of Meschers were enlarged
by man to become troglodyte dwellings in the XNUMXth century.
The Rallye de la Cagouille: in the spirit of a stroll, the Régulus site welcomes groups of children from
3 to 12 years old (school and extracurricular) to discover the Caves of Meschers. The Rally is organized
around three objectives: discovery and understanding of the functioning of an estuary, awareness of
the ecosystem of the estuary and especially its fragility, understanding of the ancient troglodyte phenomenon and
contemporary.
The Minidik and Ladybubulle Track Games: during the visit, children and adults are invited to answer questions asked by the little Minidik shrimp and the pirate Lady Bubulle, to participate
in the end of season draw and win very nice prizes!
Loan of touch tablets for the deaf and hard of hearing in sign language.
