Petit Musée du Cerf-Volant – Les Vents de Tao

Les Vents du Tao is a unique place combining the world of wind and movement. Discover a small, free museum dedicated to traditional kites, watch fascinating spinning top demonstrations, and participate in creative workshops.

Les Vents du Tao is a unique place where wind, reuse, and creativity meet. This small museum, created by enthusiasts of wind and recycled materials, invites you to discover the art of kites, spinning tops, and much more.

Founded by Ludovic Petit, a kite maker for over 40 years, the space pays homage to traditional paper and bamboo kites, with a specialty for combat kites. His daughter, Shâm Petit, grew up in this universe and passionately continues the family legacy by leading workshops around wind, recycling and movement.

Based in Talmont-sur-Gironde since 2013, they opened a Petit Musée du Cerf-Volant and offer children many fun activities. Through craft creations, such as kites, wind turbines and spinning tops, Les Vents du Tao raise awareness among young people about ecology while awakening their curiosity and creativity.

The workshops last approximately one hour and are open to children and adults during school holidays for all zones (except Christmas). Reservations are recommended by phone or email. You can also visit a shop showcasing wind-powered creations and handmade items.

Don't miss the Wind Festival, an unmissable annual event during the Ascension Day long weekend, featuring demonstrations, a wind garden, and workshops for all ages. From May 14th to May 17th, 2026.

The Winds of Tao, a place where curiosities fly away and where every breath of wind becomes an invitation to discovery.
