The Paleosite, a journey through Prehistory.
At the Saint-Césaire Paleosite, prehistory is experienced as much as it is discovered. Located on one of the major archaeological sites linked to Neanderthals, this site offers engaging activities and an immersive experience into the heart of humanity's origins. For families and friends, the visit combines museum spaces, an audiovisual tour, demonstrations, and workshops.
A place for experimentation and leisure (fire lighting, flint knapping, participatory workshops…) – of reconstructions of habitats and prehistoric fauna – to be discovered!
In 2026, the site will unveil a brand-new cinematic experience offering a unique journey through the lives of Neanderthals and Pierrette, the Neanderthal woman of Saint-Césaire. An enriching and accessible outing for all, to understand, experience, and be amazed. (Approximately 3 to 4 hours visit, café-restaurant on site).
During school holidays, also take advantage of a special program with new activities: challenges, workshops, investigation games.
