Parc Émile Zola
Address
About
Le Parc is a residential district of Royan located to the east of the town, adjoining the town of Saint-Georges-de-Didonne from which it is separated by a thin stream, the riveau de Boube (also known as the "riveau de Vallières") and the Maisonfort district.
The current district is dominated by two monuments: the Émile Zola college and the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption church, a modernist building built in the 50s. Nearby is a small public garden with a playground for children, a mini-golf course, a Basque pelota fronton, an annex to the town hall and a post office. Avenue des Semis concentrates most of the shops as well as a covered market.
