Quality Tourism Label - Royan Atlantic

Because travelers' expectations are evolving and we want to offer the best on every visit, the Royan Atlantique Community Tourist Office is embracing the new Destination of Excellence label. This national label replaces the Qualité Tourisme™ brand.

Since May 2024, the Qualité Tourisme™ brand has been replaced by the label Destination of excellenceThis new national approach encourages us to go even further on the quality of service, eco-responsibility and customer experienceIt also concerns the entire tourism sector: accommodation, restaurants, attractions and leisure activities, transportation, and of course, tourist offices. The idea is to strengthen quality and service standards while fully integrating the challenges of sustainable development and accessibility.

A label focused on quality… and the future

The Destination of Excellence label sets a higher standard than the former Qualité Tourisme brand.^™The approach places a strong emphasis on:

La structuring and quality of the tourism offer in terms of reception, services and infrastructure
THEinnovation and support for local initiatives
THEeco-responsibility and the adoption of environmentally friendly practices
THEattractiveness of the territory and the promotion of heritage and traditional know-how
La quality of the tourist experience in terms of cultural immersion and tailored services

The stakes of the Destination of Excellence label

Underlying this approach are several objectives:

Continuously improve quality of the entire tourism offering.
To commit to an eco-responsible approach (responsible resource management, digital sobriety) and promoting sustainable tourism (sustainable mobility, biodiversity protection)
Support the local economy by encouraging short supply chains, regional products and collaborations between local stakeholders.
Innovate to adapt to trends (digitalization, personalized welcome, experiential tourism)
Making the territory accessible to all, whether through infrastructure or information provided to visitors.

Criteria for obtaining the label

To obtain the Destination of Excellence label, the Tourist Office must therefore meet several cumulative conditions:

To comply with the regulatory obligations related to one's activity
To be classified under the Tourism Code where applicable
Meet the following assessment requirements:
- Pillar “Reception and services” : achieve at least 85% of the criteria with validation of all mandatory criteria relating to accessibility and customer responsiveness
- Eco-responsible pillar : to achieve at least 60% of the criteria for initial certification and 80% for renewal, with satisfaction of all mandatory criteria
