The Destination Royan Atlantique tourist office is committed to various approaches and actions in favor of sustainable development.

The green tourist office

Tourism is a sector where the issue of sustainability is important. Indeed, tourism-related activities consume a significant amount of energy, paper and resources.
The tourist office must be one of the engines of a eco-responsible territory, through its day-to-day functioning and in the choice of goods and services it consumes.
Consequently, our Community Tourist Office Destination Royan Atlantique wished to engage in a environmental approach to help preserve natural resources.

Thoughtful communication

Our tourist office has chosen to promote the dematerialized dissemination of information and its events through the Internet via our website. Thus, you can consult our brochures, our agenda and all the information necessary for the organization of your holidays. Social networks, such as FacebookInstagram ou Twitter, also allow us to disseminate information on a larger scale and in real time.

For the printing of our editions we work with printers meeting environmental standards that we have included in our calls for tenders (PEFC-certified or recycled paper for certain editions, use of vegetable oil-based inks, consideration of the packaging method, etc.). We offer socio-professionals the opportunity to bring us their obsolete brochures in order to recycle. This device makes it possible to recover paper in order to give it a second life via a local company.

Committed projects

We have set up within our structure a waste recovery policy for paper, batteries, ink cartridges, toners and writing materials. We only use office paper recycled. Our cleaning products are eco-labeled and for some made in New Aquitaine.

In this dynamic, we wanted to support the hosts of our territory towards a sustainable management of their establishment. For this, we have set up a sustainable tourism charter. We first offer them a self-diagnosis and then support in order to reduce their environmental footprint.

Finally, to make our visitors aware of respect for our environment, we insert eco-friendly gestures in our editions.

We have, collectively, a major environmental challenge to take up!
