10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Embark for the Cordouan Lighthouse
Discover the Cordouan Lighthouse, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit this monument of exceptional architectural quality. Built in the 16th century on a rocky islet, the Cordouan Lighthouse, nicknamed "Versailles of the Seas," stands 68 meters high with its 301 steps, majestically between the estuary and the ocean. For over 400 years, it has guided sailors through the passes at the mouth of the Gironde Estuary, the largest estuary in Europe.
How it works: After a 45-minute crossing aboard a speedboat, you will board another amphibious boat for a supervised and secure landing on the islet of Cordouan. You will be accompanied on foot to the Lighthouse and greeted by the keepers at the tidal gate. They will introduce you to the Lighthouse and its history (30-40 min), the ascent is free.

• The boat can be chartered for a maximum of 48 or 98 people (quote available upon request).
• Picnicking on the sandbank is only possible when the boat is chartered privately.
