Mairie de Sablonceaux
About us
Located on the continental fringe of the Côte de Beauté, on the fringes of the great agricultural and wine-growing champagne regions of Saintonge, this modest rural commune belongs to the living area of Saujon and to the urban sphere of influence of Royan.
A major element of the municipal heritage, the Notre-Dame Abbey (XNUMXth-XNUMXth centuries), surrounded by meadows and forests, is famous throughout the region. The town also retains many traditional Saintongeaise houses, called "Charentaises", and a small dolmen, in the wood of Fontaine-Jaune: the Pierre Levée de Berthegille.
