About us

Built on a cliff overlooking the Gironde, the old town of Mortagne takes in a large portion of the largest estuary in Europe.

The memory of the powerful castle which commanded the town and the port remains. The principality of Mortagne (from 1407 to 1789) had Cardinal de Richelieu as its prince. The many sieges of the Hundred Years War until the XNUMXth century haunt memories.
