Auberge de l'Alambic

About Us
Venue rental and farm inn, located at Domaine & Distillerie Brillouet in St Romain de Benet between Saintes and Saujon.
ROOM RENTAL AND FESTIVE EVENTS IN THE HEART OF SAINTONGE
VENUE RENTAL – For your special occasions—a wedding, a reception, a family gathering—you're looking for a peaceful, authentic, and adaptable venue in a friendly, timeless atmosphere. Then come and meet us at the Auberge de l'Alambic, at the Brillouet Distillery. We offer a selection of characterful rooms located within the family's 17th-century hamlet, in the countryside, in a quiet, secluded setting.
Three adjoining rooms, ranging from 110 to 140 square meters, with exposed stone walls and oak beams, can be combined to accommodate large groups. The impressive volumes, reaching up to 8 meters in height, offer a setting that is both spectacular and welcoming, enhanced by a monumental stained-glass window depicting the grape harvest and distillation process.
A 240m2 room also allows for the organization of cocktails in the heart of the stills.
We provide fully equipped kitchens with a dedicated catering area, tableware, and plenty of tables and chairs. A large fireplace allows for wood-fired grilling. Cocktail areas are available indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather. A large gravel parking lot, bordered by a meadow, can accommodate a significant number of vehicles.
The rooms are comfortably heated in winter and available all year round.
Accommodation is available on site, as well as numerous guesthouses nearby.
It is possible to enhance your event with guided tours of the estate's distilleries, museums and exhibitions.
A FESTIVE AND DISCOVERY DAY FOR GROUPS
For groups, the inn offers a full day with lively tours combining heritage, gastronomy and history, in a 17th and 18th century estate with spectacular volumes offering several points of interest in the same place.
From the morning, visitors are warmly welcomed before immersing themselves in the world of distillation, told with seriousness, humor and a sense of staging.
THE DAY is structured around a single route:
A “Little Theatre of the Alembic”, a lively and quirky introduction to the history of distillation, cognac and pineau,
A museum of rare stills and two distilleries, from the 18th to the 20th century,
Sensory workshops to discover the aromas of cognac and their origin,
A gold thread embroidery workshop, showcasing local expertise.
The Pirelonge Tower, a witness to the Gallo-Roman history of the territory,
MEALS are a key moment of the day:
Aperitif and discovery featuring the estate's products
Country buffet
Spit-roasted pig over a wood fire, served in a theatrical manner
Country-style dessert and wines from the estate
All served in a large stone room dominated by a monumental stained-glass window dedicated to the grape harvest and distillation.
IT IS A PLACE OUT OF TIME with characterful rooms up to 8 meters high, exposed stone and beams, and comfort in all seasons, an authentic, warm and convivial setting that offers a complete experience.
Culture, local produce, humor and gourmet delights: an immersive, festive and memorable day is offered, designed to entertain as much as to educate.
