Boucle VTC (saisonnière) – Rive droite de la Seudre et Côte sableuse
At La Palmyre you will head towards La Tremblade via the cycle paths along the ocean and the Coubre Forest.
In summer, you will take the ferry boat, a bucolic means of transport to Cayenne on the Marennes basin. (Or, you will take the Pont de la Seudre: watch out for road traffic).
On the right bank of the Seudre, you will cross the oyster marshes with its internationally renowned oysters. Great discoveries await you:
– the Tour de Broue, the remains of a fortified castle dominating the ancient Gulf of Brouage
– the Moulin des Loges, in the heart of the Marais de la Seudre, stands one of the last tide mills in Europe.
In Saujon, you will take the Train des Mouettes, a train from another time, to retrace your steps.
Please note, this route can also be done from Mornac by taking the Train des Mouettes (from April to September) to Saujon!
