Boucle VTC (saisonnière) – Du littoral à l'entre deux estuaires

This 2-day excursion could be a good way to travel back in time. Between history and legends there are only a few kilometers!
Thanks to the arrival of the railway in 1875, Royan became one of the most luxurious resorts on the ocean coast. The “All-Paris” meets there, among whom we can cite Zola, Guitry or even Picasso…
85% destroyed by Allied bombing in 1945, it is with modernist seaside architecture that Royan takes an astonishing dive into the 1950s.

15 km south of Royan, on a rocky promontory overlooking the estuary, Talmont has retained its original bastide plan, built in 1284. Dominating the village, the Sainte-Radegonde church is still fortified with ramparts.
Direction Saujon, to board the Train des Mouettes and travel as in the XNUMXth century.

A fishing port that has always been around, Mornac has experienced commercial navigation for salt, the wealth of the region for several centuries, but also for trade between La Rochelle and Bordeaux.
