Mornac-sur-Seudre

Loop

This route follows Route 1 ("La Vélodyssée - From Ronce-les-Bains to Royan"), Route 3 ("The Canal of the 2 Seas"), Route 5 ("Around Mortagne-sur-Gironde "), Route 6 ("Between Seudre douce et Estuaire de la Gironde"), Route 7 ("The Star of Saujon"), and Route 2 ("From the Seudre to the Vélodyssée").

Autumn, Summer, Spring

Vigilance to have when arriving in the town of Breuillet at the roundabout where the route is on a shared lane.

From Mornac, a village classified as "The most beautiful village in France", you will set off through the marshes of Saint-Augustin towards the fine sandy beaches of the Atlantic Coast. You can take a break in Vaux-sur-Mer, and experience an orienteering race at the lake. You will have to follow a route using a dedicated map and a compass, to successively reach specific crossing points (milestones or milestones). Combining fun and education, this discipline is practiced with the family and allows immersion in natural spaces.

Head south of the estuary and discover Mortagne-sur-Gironde:
In the church of Saint-Étienne is an ex-voto, the ship "Stella Maris", a four-masted trading boat. The model dates from the 19th century.

It is time to reach Saujon and take the hilly roads of the Coteaux de Gironde. You will cross vineyards, fields of wheat, corn and sunflowers. Magnificent views of the estuary await you.
The Train des Mouettes will take you to Mornac.
