PR N°17 – Saujon
Departing from the port of Ribérou, the circuit takes you on a pretty walk along the Seudre. Between the landscaped bank and the grassy path lined with reeds, you will also see squares.
The Port of Saujon "Ribérou" comes from the Latin ripa, the "shore". From the 1840th century, the Seudre became a major salt port. Ships come and go laden with salted meats (fish, meat), wine, and spirits. Silted in the XNUMXth century, the arm of the sea was widened in XNUMX and the coast revived its maritime past.
