PR N°1 – Saint-Palais-sur-Mer
Departing from Saint-Palais-sur-mer, from the Grande Côte car park, a route between ocean, sand, blockhouse, national forest and the heart of the city.
Saint-Palais-sur-Mer has long borne the name of Bureau-les-Bains, named after the customs office established in 1840. 80 years later, the seaside town was baptized Saint-Palais-sur-mer. The forest circuit allows you to discover the national forest and, on the coast, the impressive cliffs torn apart by the spray.
The path in the heart of the forest acquired by the Conservatoire du Littoral is far from any road for more than 3 km. Take this into account in the event of a very dry summer period (risk of fire).
Inhabited since the Bronze Age, the area of Combots d'Ansoine experienced, like the entire Arvert peninsula, progressive silting up from the 1824th century. It was in XNUMX that the first reforestation measure was taken by the Prefect of Charente Inférieure.
Circuit carried out by the Departmental Hiking Committee of Charente-Maritime.
