The winemakers of Royan Atlantique join forces for the " Chais d'ici " event to showcase the richness of the terroir and share their passion.
Chais d’ici: the meeting place for wine and local wine lovers
The "Chais d'ici" event offers a friendly opportunity to meet local winemakers . Visitors can discover the various trades and expertise of the Charente region through tours of their cellars and vineyards . Demonstrations and fun activities are also available. Finally, it's a chance to taste and appreciate, in moderation, the range of local wines, Pineau des Charentes, and Cognac!
In 2026, Chais d'ici returns from May 23rd to 25th
The weekend of May 23-25, head towards the Royan Atlantic Vineyards for a new edition of "Wine cellars here" The program includes: guided tours, tastings, meals, entertainment, free concerts…
10 wine estates open their doors to showcase their expertise and products: wines, pineaux, cognacs, etc., all in a warm and festive atmosphere.

DISCOVERING THE CHARENTAIS VINEYARDS
In the heart of Charente-Maritime, extending from the Bordeaux and Cognac vineyards, the Charente vineyards stretch across a multifaceted territory, encompassing beaches, marshes, and verdant hillsides. This unique setting gives rise to a diverse range of wines:
- IGP "Charentais" wines, wines with a subtle and fruity taste, perfect with oysters, seafood or lamb from the estuary
- AOC Pineau des Charentes – the local specialty – sweet alcohol ideal as an aperitif or in a cocktail
- AOC Cognac, “Good wood” and “Ordinary wood” vintages, to be enjoyed as an aperitif, cocktail or digestif
The winemakers thus perpetuate an ancestral and reasoned culture of the vine. But more than a know-how, it is a true art of living that is expressed here, through the seasons and encounters.
In the Royan Atlantique region, wine tourism takes on its full meaning: you stroll between the rows of vines, you push open the door of family estates, you exchange ideas over a glass… Each step invites you to better understand the richness of the terroir and the commitment of today's winemakers.
