At the head of the operation, Florian Mossion embodies a new generation of passionate winemakers. After completing a BTS (Advanced Vocational Diploma) in viticulture and oenology, he naturally joined the family estate and took over its management in 2014. He continues to rely on the advice of his father, who spearheaded the estate's viticultural development in the 90s. Today, the vineyard extends over more than 40 hectares dedicated to the production of Pineau des Charentes and Cognac.
Between high standards, local produce and creativity
Florian pays meticulous attention to his vines at every stage, from vine to cellar. Situated on hillsides, they benefit from abundant sunshine and a climate tempered by the estuary, sheltered from both extreme frosts and intense heat. The limestone soils, with their varying nuances depending on the plot, reveal the full diversity of the terroir.
This allows us to work with different grape varieties and reveal their full richness:
- white ugni, Colombard et White Madwoman for Cognacs,
- Merlot et Cabernet franc for the red Pineau wines.
Alongside these emblematic varieties of the region, Florian is also reviving old grape varieties such as the Montils. Typically from the Charente region, this grape variety brings finesse and singularity to the white Pineau wines.
Quality comes from care.
Having been involved for many years in a sustainable viticultureThe estate seeks to preserve the natural balance and to limit its impact on the environmentEvery step counts, from vine to bottle. In fact, since the 2000s, bottling has been done directly on the estate. Even at the distillery, resources are optimized. For example, rainwater is used to cool the distillate and then recycled in a closed loop to protect the surrounding environment. This approach reflects a commitment to evolving the estate with the times, while respecting Charente tradition and modernizing practices.
