Le Estuary Coasts area was born about ten years ago on family land, facing the Gironde estuary, in Savings. Passionate about wine production since his birth, Frédéric Duret decided in 2013 to revive this property where he grew up. He then planted plots of Chardonnay and Viognier, a demanding grape variety but adapted to the limestone soils and sunshine of the region. The adventure began with a small production and a strong desire: to create different wines, with a unique identity.

First shared between Paris and Charente-Maritime, Frédéric Duret learned his winemaking trade step by step: buying equipment, observing the vine cycle, harvesting by hand, vinifying and marketing his vintages. In 2016, he put his first vintages on the market: a decisive moment that validated his project. His charentais wines seduce and quickly find their audience, particularly in the Paris region.
In 2019, Frédéric moved full-time to Épargnes to continue developing his estate. From an initial 1,5 hectares, the vines now extend over around twenty hectares. The vineyard, organically grown and pesticide-free, is part of an approach that respects the soil and the environment. The south/southwest exposure of the plots, combined with the choice of grape varieties, brings richness and complexity to the wines of the Côtes de l'Estuaire estate.
From Charente wines to the first cognacs
History is also written with the CognacAlthough he doesn't distill it himself, Frédéric Duret collects the eaux-de-vie from his wines and ages them in new, wooded barrels to intensify their elegant, chiseled aromas. The first Cognac vintage from Domaine Côtes de l'Estuaire is planned for this year.
Today, Frédéric maintains a craft production style where every step is mastered, from the vine to the bottling. His single-varietal wines reflect his passion, his taste for experimentation, and his deep attachment to this Charente-Maritime region. He offers two vintages: one Viognier and one Chardonnay, available for purchase at the estate.
