Composed of vines and cereal crops, the between-two estuaries is the promise of a relaxed way of life. Time seems to stand still. Between theGironde estuary and l'Seudre estuary, immerse yourself in the heart of the Charente-Maritime countryside and enjoy the present moment. On the program: moments of tranquility and total change of scenery at the gates of Royan.

A land of heritage

Seen from the sky, the agricultural landscapes between the two estuaries dominate and look like a patchwork of green plots. Wheat, sunflower, corn or even barley, so many cereal productions which make the richness of this part of the territory. We set off to discover these natural spaces between crops, vines and forest. We appreciate the charm of the countryside shaped by picturesque landscapes and places of character.

Vestiges of a past history, the Romanesque churches bear witness to a discreet architectural heritage. AT Corme-Lock, for example, the details of the portal of the Church of Our Lady deserve special attention. The high point of this ancient heritage, the abbey of Sablonceaux stands at the very north of the between-two estuaries, like a landmark for pilgrims taking the route of the paths of Saint Jacques de Compostela from Saintes to the Gironde by the Royan ferry.

Between landscape richness and local cultures, we let ourselves be seduced by the simplicity.
