About us
Beach supervised in summer from July 8 to August 27, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 19 p.m. by lifeguards 6,5 km from Ronce-les-Bains.
Accessible from the bike and car parking lots by a 460-metre sandy path, gateway to the Côte Sauvage, facing due west, bordered by beautiful dunes and pine forests that stretch to infinity, but also swept away by strong opposing currents and huge waves announcing the Pertuis de Maumusson which has caused many shipwrecks: this beach bears the name of the wife of the captain of the Spanish schooner, the only survivor of the sinking of the "Antonio Carmen" on December 20, 1823 , she sank into madness to watch for the return of her dead husband. During the Second World War, Pointe Espagnole was fortified to defend the Pertuis de Maumusson.
The practice of naturism is authorized between trench n°10 (Pointe Espagnole beach) and trench n°32 (Bouverie beach).
A gate (2 m high) limits access to the car park. Parking prohibited from midnight to 6 a.m. – ban on lighting fires and barbecues in the forest. Surfing, bodyboarding... (refer to the municipal decree).
Snack bar subject to reservation.
Dogs on a leash are allowed all year round except from June 15 to September 15.
Horseback riding is permitted before 10 a.m. and after 20 p.m. from June 15 to September 15.
The overnight parking of motorhomes is regulated throughout the town of La Tremblade - Ronce les Bains between 23 p.m. and 9 a.m., outside the parking area provided for this purpose: refer to the municipal decree.
Activities: Surfing, shore fishing.
Naturism tolerated: between trench n°10 (Pointe Espagnole beach) and trench n°32 (Bouverie beach).
