A military site occupied since the 19th century, recovered by the Germans during the Occupation, Fort du Chay is one of the (rare) sensitive traces of the Second World War in Royan.
Above the 1930s blockhouses, Souffle, a memorial work by the artist Luc Richard, was installed at the request of the City in 2022.
