As part of the commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Vaux-sur-Mer, the Municipality has decided to invest in public space by installing a historical trail alternating photographs and poems by resistance fighters. This approach aims to engage passersby, immerse them (again) in this past and, along the way, reflect on the lessons it can teach us.
10 historical panels cover this period in Vaux-sur-Mer, using striking photographs and explanatory texts: the arrival of the German army, its installation, the occupation, the construction of the Atlantic Wall, the bombing, the liberation, Vaux-sur-Mer, martyred city.
Located between the market square and the town hall, passing through the Chemin des Fontaines and the church square, this historical route is embellished with poems by resistance fighters: Elie WIESEL, Paul ELUARD, Robert DESNOS, Pierre SEGHERS, Jean CAYROL, Charlotte DELBO, Marianne COHN, Madeleine RIFFAUD, Sylviane HUTTEAU.
