"Olfactory, visual or sensory, my Proustian madeleines have both cradled and troubled my childhood.

Since then, they bear the marks and memories of the past.
As auditory experiences, they do not erase in any way the sounds, melodies and voices that caressed and ultimately exhausted me.
They are my perpetual vinyl.
They have enriched my waters and tarnished my arid lands.
Osaka, Houston, Caldwell NJ, New York, Châtelaillon-Plage, Paris,

Lausanne, Zurich…

All these cities and so many others, past, adored, flown over and imbued with their essence

…and the truths in all those faces,
…and the fleeting glimpses of all the landscapes here…

For it was indeed in La Tremblade, at the tip of the Arvert peninsula, that my Proustian madeleines found meaning and respite.
