The exhibition “New perspectives on the remains of the Second World War” allows you to discover the latest archaeological research carried out by the Departmental Archaeology Service of Charente-Maritime.
More than sixty objects from recent archaeological operations, accompanied by around thirty richly illustrated explanatory panels, will allow you to explore the material traces resulting from the Second World War and to confront the memorial issues inherent in these remains.
From the construction of the Atlantic Wall to the battles of the Liberation, you will discover how archaeologists collect, study and preserve this heritage, in order to contribute to its preservation so that future generations can have access to this collective memory.
