Exposition – Jacques Henri Lartigue, photographe en villégiature
Wednesday, June 17 at 14:00 p.m.
Musée 31 avenue de Paris 17200 Royan
One hundred years ago, Jacques Henri Lartigue (1894-1986), a photographer whose life spanned the 20th century, stayed in Royan for the second time. The Royan Museum is showcasing a unique part of his work, reflecting the evolution of the holiday resort.
Surrounded by artists and socialites, Lartigue photographed the new pleasures offered by the beach, sunbathing, and outdoor sports. Together, they explored the beaches of Biarritz, the French Riviera, and the coves of Royan, and Lartigue documented their evolution over time. Through some forty photographs, the Royan Museum invites you to discover a vision of seaside resorts between the two World Wars.
