This creation by the town of Vaux-sur-Mer will immerse viewers in the heart of the town's history, through a narrative of the events of 39-45 and a montage of archived photos and videos. An original and unprecedented projection on the facade of Vaux-sur-Mer town hall, accompanied by a play of light.

A witness to time and guardian of local history, the Tower in the town hall park has been at the forefront of events in the town for over 160 years. During the Second World War, the building (now the town hall) was, like the rest of the building, requisitioned. Maurice Garnier, head of the FFI group of the intelligence service (SR) of the Arvert peninsula, and also the owner of the premises, made the Tower his lair, which he tried to protect as best he could from the occupants. The bombings of April 14 and 15, 1945, unfortunately did not spare the building. Only the four walls resisted the ravages of the flames.
Restored nearly a year ago, the City wished to highlight this building to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Vaux-sur-Mer. It therefore imagined a nighttime projection of archive images on the façade of the Town Hall, with the Tower itself as the spectator-actress-narrator.
The development of a historical narrative about the occupation, bombing, and liberation of Vaux-sur-Mer has been entrusted to Marie-Anne Bouchet-Roy, a journalist and author of several books on this period. The City's events department is designing the scenography.

By retracing the period of the 40s, the resistance, local life up to the bombings and the liberation by the Allied troops, this open-air projection aims to contribute to the duty of remembrance.
