Throughout the month of May, the City of Vaux-sur-Mer is participating in the "May by bike" initiative by offering a varied program: rides, challenges, visits, workshops.
VAUX-SUR-MER IS ROLL FOR TWO-WHEELED VEHICLES
The town of Vaux-sur-Mer has a long-standing passion for cycling. With 18 km of cycle paths, a network slated for expansion, it has made sustainable mobility a cornerstone of its public policy. With this new term in office, the town intends to accelerate this momentum and take the lead in promoting cycling. And this begins now with the national "May by Bike" campaign, through which it invites all residents of Vaux-sur-Mer to get in the saddle.
For Patrice Libelli, mayor of Vaux-sur-Mer, “transportation is at the heart of our citizens’ daily lives. Going to work, to shops, or to cultural or sporting venues… it shapes our everyday lives. It also represents, we must not forget, challenges for the future in terms of living environment, health, climate, and purchasing power. This is why, in Vaux-sur-Mer, we are implementing proactive public policies for urban development and multiplying incentive initiatives such as the national “May by Bike” campaign in which we are participating this year.”
From May 1st to 31st, the City of Vaux-sur-Mer is offering a roadmap for everyone, featuring a challenge, rides, awareness sessions, training, and safety awareness. All these initiatives aim to introduce or reintroduce people of all ages to the benefits of cycling, with the hope that all residents of Vaux-sur-Mer will adopt it for all their journeys—a healthy and non-polluting mode of daily transport.
A CHALLENGE PROPOSED TO ASSOCIATIONS AND COMPANIES
The City of Vaux-sur-Mer invites local organizations and businesses to participate in this fun, community-focused, and sustainable challenge. Each organization can register on the website and bring its teams together to proudly represent their community and promote active transportation! Throughout May, a ranking will be updated based on the number of kilometers cycled.
