Les Journées Européennes de l'Archéologie – Site du Fâ

Musée du Fâ 25 route du Fâ 17120 Barzan

The Fâ site offers you two days of activities for the 17th edition of this unmissable European event, on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June 2026.

– Participatory workshop “Discovering archaeology” from 11am to 12pm.
In a recreated excavation site environment, come and learn about the work of archaeologists. Using a shovel and trowel, you will discover the main objects studied by archaeologists.

– Murder Party “Panic on the Construction Site” available for free access.
Investigate and restore calm to the archaeological site at Le Fâ. Adrien Valmont, the site manager, has been found dead at the foot of the Moulin du Fâ. Murder or accident? There's no shortage of suspects among those who associated with this renowned archaeologist: rivals, colleagues, tour guides… They all had good reason to get rid of him. Be observant and perceptive, gather clues, and verify the alibis.
Warning: This story is entirely fictional!

– Presentation “Daily Life” from 14:30 p.m. to 15:30 p.m.
In the atmosphere of a Roman domus, the visitor discovers the everyday objects used by our ancestors as well as their method of manufacture and their social significance: utensils, pottery, games…

– Guided tour of the site from 15:45pm to 17:00pm.
Through the evocation of the ancient city and the presentation of the sanctuary and the baths, travel to the heart of the Gallo-Roman settlement of 2,000 years ago.

– Activity booklet to discover the site as a family, freely accessible.
⚠️ Bring your pencil to complete the activity booklet.

– Ludicus area: self-guided ancient games.
Experience the games that captivated our Gallo-Roman ancestors in a large format version.

– Costume Area “Come in sandals, we’ll take care of the rest!”
Dressed in a tunic and a toron, you are now ready to explore the city like a Gallo-Roman!

– Temporary exhibition “Archaeology in 3D, from floor to ceiling” with free access.
Imagine! It's the 2nd century AD. You've just arrived in Novioregum (?). You're at the entrance to the city's great sanctuary. Before you stretches an imposing avenue, thronged with a large crowd. In the distance, you can make out the theater, nestled against the hillside. [...] Discover our beautiful buried city, thanks to the research of archaeologists and their 3D reconstruction work.
