BOX OFFICE OPENING DATE: Thursday, June 4th at 10am
“Consobrinae” Camera Oscura: Hermine Horiot (cello) and Giovanni Bellini (theorbo)

At the dawn of the 18th century, France and Italy regarded each other as kindred spirits, united by a shared heritage but driven by distinct sensibilities. One was oriented towards song, the other towards dance. Around the basso continuo, the cello and theorbo reveal the full richness of their sonorities, by turns luminous, tender, and virtuosic. Works by Domenico Gabrielli, Alessandro Scarlatti, Robert de Visée, and François Couperin bring these two traditions into dialogue, creating a vibrant exchange of colors at the heart of the Baroque golden age.
