Jazz au Palais – The Honnet Brothers
Friday, October 30 at 20 a.m.
Le Palais Royan Événements 42 avenue des Congrès 17200 Royan
With the Honnet Brothers we discover a French duo featuring Hammond organ and drums, driven by jazz, funk and Afro-Caribbean influences.
Between organic groove, vintage sounds and infectious energy, the duo offers music that is both cinematic and deeply danceable.
The Honnet Brothers are a French duo composed of brothers Anthony and Davy Honnet, respectively on Hammond organ and drums. Immersed in music from childhood, they quickly developed a common language nourished by jazz, funk, electronic music and Afro-Caribbean influences, with an avowed love for vintage sounds and organic groove.
Their musical universe, both cinematic and deeply danceable, follows in the footsteps of artists such as Eddy Louiss, Medeski Martin & Wood, Fela Kuti, and Delvon Lamarr, while asserting a resolutely personal identity. On stage, the duo unleashes a contagious energy, blending finely crafted melodies, hypnotic rhythms, and audacious improvisations.
Joining him on stage, we will have the pleasure of welcoming Julien Lourau.
Saxophonist, composer, and key figure in French jazz, Julien Lourau has embodied a rare artistic freedom for over 30 years. A pioneer in the fusion of jazz, electronic music, and club music, he made his mark in the 90s with Trash Corporation and then the legendary Groove Gang, before collaborating with Abbey Lincoln, Charlie Haden, Henri Texier, and Bojan Z.
