Conférence – La mode aux XVIe et XVIIe siècles

Wednesday, September 30 at 15 a.m.

Musée 31 avenue de Paris 17200 Royan

By Nadine de Maren, CMN lecturer

From the Renaissance to the 17th century, clothing reflected artistic and social developments. Precious fabrics, gold, silver, pearls, and lace testified to the refinement of the era. While women's fashion evolved little in the 17th century, men's clothing reached a high level of elegance under Louis XIII. Hairstyles, beards, and mustaches also became essential markers of distinction and dapperness.
