Tuesday May 19 at 18:15 a.m.
Maison des associations 61 bis rue Paul Doumer 17200 Royan
By Ghislain Quétel
Ghislain Quétel offers an artistic, social, and historical perspective on Millet's works and renown. Between 1814 and 1875, Millet lived through three revolutions, a war, and raised nine children. His career can be divided into three periods: portraits in Cherbourg, peasant life in Barbizon, and nature at the end of his life. With his later works, he is considered one of the forerunners of Impressionism, having influenced Claude Monet, Vincent van Gogh, and later, Salvador Dalí.
