Led by the charismatic Angela Strandberg (vocals, trumpet & washboard), supported by the impetuous Hugo Proy (clarinet) and the wild rhythm section of Remi Oswald (banjo), Baptiste Hec (guitar) and Gabriel Seyer (double bass), MAMA SHAKERS pays homage to the forgotten hot jazz of the 1920s in their sweet and powerful style.
Exploring in turn the frenetic swing of New Orleans, the deep country of Tennessee, and the old blues of Memphis, this spirited group gives pride of place to vocal harmonies for a communicative show that leaves no one untouched. Between frenetic swing and intoxicating ballads, MAMA SHAKERS, with their exhilarating compositions, breathes new life into this century-old music.
