About us

The Train des Mouettes offers an authentic experience, to be enjoyed with family or friends.

A journey through time along the Seudre estuary on a railway line opened in 1876 and formerly dedicated to the transport of oysters. With the privilege of being towed by one of its two steam locomotives, dated 1912 and 1891, the oldest in working order in France, listed as a historical monument!

On board cars from the beginning of the XNUMXth century, between Saujon and La Tremblade via Chaillevette and Mornac-sur-Seudre, you will discover with the volunteers of the Trains and Traction association, the richness of the landscapes, the salt marshes and the oyster beds which strew the line. All the staff, in the machine as in the cars, are volunteers, trained in driving and safety. The operation and repair of the machines are the result of the meticulous work of enthusiasts!

Traffic from Thursday to Sunday in April, May, June, September and every day in season, July and August (departures from Saujon and La Tremblade). Find the latest news about our themed trains and the Seudre Océan Express restaurant train on our site!

- Ticket valid for the day (allows stopovers)
