Royan Atlantique is a haven for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. To showcase the region in a new light, Les Coflocs accepted the Tourist Office's invitation to try out some unusual watersports in Royan Atlantique. From the serenity of canoeing on the Seudre River to the adrenaline rush of e-foiling in La Palmyre, these passionate filmmakers share their story of an authentic immersion between land and sea.
The Coflocs are passionate directors specializing in travel videos for over 10 years. Their approach? Storytelling authentic, human and inspiring stories, in natural light and with sincerity.
Originally from Savoy and Alsace, Florian and Laurent created The Coflocs in 2017. The name “Coflocs” comes from the contraction of the words “Colocs,” “Flo,” and “Lo,” from their time as roommates in Paris. For this shoot, they were accompanied by Tom and Yvan, cameramen and drone pilots. Their mission: try out two unusual snow sports, The canoe and e-foil, at iconic sites in the region.
An encounter with Les Coflocs: a new perspective on unusual sliding activities in Charente-Maritime
Where does your passion for travel come from?
Florian: After graduating from high school, I went to study film in Australia. This first big move to the other side of the world was a real turning point. Afterwards, I lived as an expat in Sweden and Austria. These experiences instilled in me a taste for travel, exploration, and encounters with other cultures. This need for openness has never left me.
Laurent: For me, Europe was the first destination, with an Erasmus exchange and a VIE (International Corporate Volunteer Program) in Germany, followed by a stint abroad in the Netherlands. Then, I was lucky enough to travel around the world, which completely transformed my perspective on travel. We both love to travel, and that's true for the rest of the Coflocs team as well. It's truly part of our shared DNA, what connects us so deeply.
With Les Coflocs, we succeeded in doing what many dream of doing: turning a passion into a profession. Traveling, filming, telling human stories in France but also in all four corners of the world.
Laurent and Florian

Were you familiar with the area before coming here?
We didn't know anything about it. Atlantic Royan before this immersion. And what a surprise! We really felt like we were arriving at the gates of the Southwest, between land, ocean and estuaries.
Do you usually participate in water sports?
When it comes to water sports, we're pretty used to it: kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding… These are disciplines we practice regularly, for leisure or during our filming with Team Coflocs.
Florian: I also surf during my holidays, whenever I can.
Have you ever tried unusual watersports like canoeing and e-foiling?
Laurent: I had already tried canoeing in the Bay of Somme, but never like this with Jérôme d'Spirit Paddle.
Florian and Yvan For us, it was a real first!
We all discovered thee-foil in La Palmyre.
Feedback on these unusual snow sports activities
Exploring the Seudre estuary by dugout canoe: between cohesion and nature
On a canoe, we get a real impression of gliding on the water in connection with nature But this requires excellent teamwork! Indeed, since we're rowing as a group, it's necessary find a common rhythm and have a good team dynamic.

It's a fairly different from kayaking which can be practiced solo or in pairs. This gives you more freedom to go wherever you like, to explore hidden coves. Conversely, the outrigger canoe offers genuine moments of cohesion and conviviality to experience with family, friends, or even during team-building activities. With just a few paddle strokes from L'EguilleWe find ourselves in the heart of nature, on theSeudre estuary.
Our guide gave us some fascinating explanations about the local flora and fauna A truly immersive experience. And to conclude, we enjoyed a tasting of local products on the banks of the Seudre River. Pure bliss!
Flying above Bonne Anse Bay: the unusual experience of e-foiling
The e-foil It's truly amazing: thanks to electric propulsion, you literally fly above the water! It requires a bit of balance, but it's accessible to everyoneIt's an ideal activity for curious sports enthusiasts, couples, or groups of friends looking for new experiences.

The advantage is thatyou can practice whenever you wantUnlike wing foiling or surfing, we are not dependent on the wind or waves. We were lucky enough to test e-foiling with green foil in the magnificent setting of the Bonne Anse BayIt's unique! You discover the horizon in a different way, from above, with a real feeling of freedom.
Would you return to the area to discover other activities?
Of course, we already want to come back to discover even more activities in this area. We're ready!
Goal achieved !
Our adventurers equally enjoyed the calm and serenity of a canoe trip that theadrenaline rush provided by the e-foil.
Two experiences that left a lasting impression on them. Not only because of the images captured, but because of the moments lived. No artifice. Just the beauty of a territory and the sincerity of an encounter. They came to film. They leave with very strong memories.
And the desire to return to continue telling the story of Royan Atlantique not as a destination, but as a feeling. A territory to be experienced.
